After the 2019 Granite Game Summit, one of the original organizers of Unity Games, Craig Massey, approached the organizers and put forward the idea of restarting Unity Games. They jumped at the chance!

ReUnity Games is the rebirth of the much beloved tabletop game convention, Unity Games, that has inspired so many people in so many positive ways. It is a regularly occurring event focused on social, open board gaming in the New England area. Our goal is to bring people new and old to the hobby together in a welcoming and friendly environment for a long single day of amazing games.

Bring your games and your fun

Unity Games was built on people sharing in their love of this wonderful hobby. This community proved their openness by bringing their games to share with the hundreds of attendees. The shared attendee library is one of the things that made Unity so amazing and we are going to continue with that tradition.

The format will be to bring games if you can and set them up on the designated tables. Then take either one of your games or someone else's and find a group to sit down and play.

 

BRINGING YOUR GAMES

  • We will have sheets of paper and cards for each library table

  • Find any open library table space (note which number table it is)

  • List your games on one of the pieces of paper provided

  • Put what time you are leaving on the sheet as well

  • Any games you do not want to share can go underneath the table

 

PLAYING GAMES

  • Grab any game, grab a table number card (so you know where to return the game to)

  • Find an open gaming table and some people to play with

  • There will be "Players and Teacher Wanted" signs at the water tables

  • Treat all the games with the respect you would expect from others

  • Enjoy

Same Convenient Location

When selecting the venue to bring back this amazing convention we immediately went to the last space it was held, the Doubletree in Danvers, MA. With easy access via I-95 & Route 1 and large grand ballroom make it ideal for our event. For food there will be lunch and dinner concessions at their coffee shop and their full restaurant, Tradewinds. There are several amenities including a fitness room, health club, pool, video arcade and a spa for guests. Free easy parking is plentiful and convenient to the event space.

Note: The Coco Keys indoor water park will be undergoing renovations while ReUnity Games is happening this year.

Maximize Gaming Time

We are going to be bringing back some of the awesomeness that made Unity Games so amazing. Stay tuned here to see more as we get closer:

  • Charity Auction - All proceeds will be donated in honor of Adam Smiles (one of the founding members of the original event)

  • BGG Auction - Online auction where many games will be exchanged between attendees

This and several other events would not be happening if it wasn’t for the dedication and hard work of many before us. One of the strongest leaders in our community was Adam Smiles. Adam passed away on May 12th of this year after losing his battle with cancer. Not only did he help run the original Unity Games convention, he also co-ran Lobster Trap and was an admin on BGG.

We can think of no better dedication to him then to bring back this special event. To bring joy to hundreds of people that he has influenced directly or indirectly because of how committed he was to all of us.

During ReUnity Games we will be holding a silent auction. There will be items out on display with a sheet of paper to make bids silent auction style. All the proceeds from this will be donated in the name of Adam Smiles.

A collection box will also be available at registration for anyone the day of who would like to donate. This money (as well as what is raised in the silent auction) will be donated to a charity in his name.
